Developed during the academic year 2020/2021 by representatives of JCT, PDST and PPLI
Digi Tech for Languages was developed during the academic year 2020/2021 by representatives of Junior Cycle for Teachers (JCT), Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST) and Post-Primary Languages Ireland (PPLI) to help support language teachers and language departments introduce and embed digital technologies and digital tools in their teaching to support active student engagement and active learning.
Languages Connect, Ireland’s Strategy for Foreign Languages in Education (2017-2026), identifies the use of digital tools (action 1.C.1) as being integral to language teaching in order to allow teachers and their students to engage with authentic language.
The European Centre for Modern Languages also promotes the use of digital tools in the MFL classroom to help increase and maintain active engagement in learning.
